About Cobb County

Cobb County is a little different in that it doesn’t have a separate division for family court. The Superior Court has exclusive equity jurisdiction over family law matters, including divorce cases, child support and child visitation cases, and property distribution in divorce cases.

Cobb County’s Superior Court has ten judges who are elected to a four-year term by the people of Cobb County. The Superior Court is located at 70 Haynes Street in Marietta. The clerk is located at the same address.

Cobb County also has a Parental Accountability Court Program to help newly divorced people in their new situation, including helping parents with child support issues. You do have to apply for the program, and you must meet the eligibility requirements, including no history of violent felonies, have been chronically unemployed or you missed several child support payments, having at least six months of owed child support, and you have a case pending or a current case against you to take away your driver’s license for non-payment of support.
