A message of how SM&P has prioritized customer and associate safety with COVID-19

Dear Clients,

We are sure you have concerns during these unprecedented times (at least in our lifetimes). Please know we at Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor have more than 33 years of experience to help navigate you through.

As many of you probably have heard, court systems in the Atlanta Metropolitan area have issued Emergency Orders in an effort to do their part to contain the current Coronavirus situation. The Courts are not closing. However, they are postponing hearings, particularly ones they deem “non-essential”. Of course, many family law issues concern temporary or immediate needs, and should you need immediate relief, we will pursue that request. The hearing may be available in person or via video or telephone, depending on many factors. If you do have a hearing scheduled within the next 30 days you should contact your attorney immediately regarding your legal rights and how they may be affected by a delay.

Our offices will remain open. Attorneys and staff will be working on your behalf as usual. For your safety as well as the staff’s, we have set up Zoom video conferencing. We will be able to continue to discuss your case with you via email, telephone or via video conference.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns at this time.

We are here for you and thank you for your trust in us.

Sincerely,

Mary Montgomery
