SM&P Attorneys Named Super Lawyers and Rising Stars
Once again, Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor is proud to learn that their attorneys have been recognized state-wide for their competence and influence in the legal field. They are pleased to announce that attorneys Ryan Proctor and Melanie Prehodka were named 2022 Georgia Super Lawyers, and that Myia Robinson and Dominic Jones were named Rising Stars by Super Lawyers. Only five percent of Georgia lawyers are chosen as Georgia Super Lawyers and no more than 2.5 percent in the state are recognized as Rising Stars.
Super Lawyers, part of Thomson Reuters, is a research-driven, peer-influenced rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The objective of Super Lawyers is to create a credible, comprehensive, and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys to be used as a resource for both referring attorneys and consumers seeking legal counsel.
Attorneys chosen come from more than 70 practice areas and all firm sizes, assuring a credible and relevant list each year. This selection process evaluates lawyers based upon multiple criteria, including professional achievement and peer recognition; honors and awards; firm and bar involvement and leadership; scholarship and professional writings; community service and pro bono activities; and other outstanding achievements.
The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for ten years or less. All attorneys first go through the Super Lawyers selection process. Those not selected as Super Lawyers who meet either one of the Rising Stars eligibility requirements go through the Rising Stars selection process.
The firm’s honorees, like everyone on the SM&P team, stay fully informed of updates in Georgia Law and legal tendencies within family law to provide each client with the best outcome. They have represented hundreds of clients in Georgia, including those living in Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Cherokee, Gwinnett, Paulding, Hall, and Bartow counties.
This year’s selectees will be listed in the February issue of Georgia’s Super Lawyers Magazine, Atlanta magazine, and the Atlanta Business Chronicle special supplement. The online attorney directory on SuperLawyers.com will also feature the list.
Clients and associates often want to understand what philosophy of and approach to law has made these award-winners so successful in their family law practices. A common theme is commitment to both clients and the law. But each has a background and special qualities that make them exceptional.
