Keith Hollman Memorial Golf Tournament
The Henry Arthur Callis Education Foundation held its Ervin Keith Hollman Memorial Scholarship Golf Classic in mid-September at Cobblestone Golf Club in Acworth. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Omicron Mu Lambda Chapter in Marietta hosted the event. Tournament proceeds will benefit the Callis Foundation and its programs supporting Cobb County youth.
SM&P supported the fundraiser by sponsoring a hole and by sending their own linksman into the fray — attorney Dominic Jones. “The weather was nice,” he said, “and I had a great time. It makes me want to play more golf!”
The event is named after Keith Hollman (1954-2018), who was known for his kindness, sense of humor, generosity, business acumen, prowess in golf, and enthusiasm for all sports. He was dearly beloved by his family, business partners, fraternity brothers, golf buddies, and many others. Hollman was the driving force behind establishing an annual golf tournament more than 10 years ago to benefit the Henry Arthur Callis Education Foundation.
This year, 128 golfers joined the fundraiser. They brought in approximately $20,000 for the Foundation.
The Henry Arthur Callis Education Foundation was established in 1986 to support educational initiatives focused on youth in the Marietta/Cobb County area. One of these initiatives is to recognize and reward young men graduating from Cobb area high schools who exhibit scholastic excellence and good character and give back to their community in the form of service.
Over the years, the Foundation has distributed thousands of dollars to deserving students seeking to further their education. “It is an honor to assist the Foundation in their commitment to our young people through this effort,” said Mary Montgomery, SM&P’s founding and managing partner.
