America’s Sweetest Race

Would you walk a mile for chocolate? SM&P partner Randy Sabatini and his wife Dee were willing to run more than three miles for chocolate as participants in “America’s Sweetest Race,” formally known as The Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k run, sponsored by RAM Racing.

Established in 2008, inaugural Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k marathoners dashed through the streets of Chicago. Since then, over 200,000 participants have run for chocolate in cities across the nation, making it the fastest-growing race series in America. Each race offers a 15k (9.3miles) and 5k (3.1miles) option.

This year, despite the chilly weather, speedsters Randy and Dee heated the Atlanta streets. “Any day you can exercise, eat chocolate, and donate money to charity is a great day,” said Randy.

At the post-race party, the chocolate began to flow for runners and their fans, who enjoyed music and Hot Chocolate merchandise. Finishers were awarded mugs brimming with hot cocoa, chocolate fondue, and tasty dippable treats!

Funds raised through the event benefit the Make-A-Wish® Foundation, the official race charity of the Allstate Hot Chocolate 15k/5k. The Foundation makes life-changing dreams come true for children with severe medical conditions. Because studies show that children who are granted wishes build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight a critical illness, Make-A-Wish® endeavors to bring every eligible child’s wish to life.
