Alexis Grubbs Memorial Golf Tournament

For SM&P attorney Danielle Davis, receiving the Alexis Grubbs Memorial Scholarship as a high school senior proved to be a pivotal moment in her life. “It was affirmation that following my goal to become an attorney was the right decision for me,” said Danielle. “So I was proud to sponsor a hole in this year’s 20th Annual Alexis Grubbs Memorial Golf Tournament.” The tournament, held on September 11, drew 126 players to participate at the Brookstone Country Club in Acworth. The event raises money for a scholarship, open to seniors at Marietta High School who wish to pursue any area connected to law. The tournament brought in almost $25,000 this year.

“It was our hope in 1998, when it started,” said Senior Judge Adele Grubbs, Alexis’ mother, “to furnish one $4,000 scholarship per year. The fund has now awarded more than $277,000 to 67 winners. It is such a tribute to my daughter.” Judge Grubbs appreciates everyone who has supported or received from it, especially Danielle. “She is excellent in the courtroom,” the judge said, “and it is an honor to identify her as a past recipient of the Scholarship.”

Mary Montgomery, SM&P managing and founding partner added, “We are very proud of Danielle and all she has achieved.”
