SM&P Supports Legal Aid Fundraising Event
Senior paralegals Eduardo Sanchez and Nathalie Mendez along with their spouses, Nicole Marie Sanchez and Connor Culpepper respectively recently attended the Justice Jam Casino Royale to benefit Cobb Legal Aid.
Held at the Boxwood Social Hall on the Marietta Square, the casino and James Bond themed night raised money and awareness for this worth cause while also providing an evening of glamour and fun.
Throughout the year SM&P attorneys give of their time and expertise to support them (Legal Aid) and according to Mary Montgomery, founder and managing partner, “our sponsorship is money well spent.”
The thrilling affair featured elegance and casino games with a DJ and a daring contest for the most debonair secret agent. Wanting Lady Luck on your side was the intent but according to Eduardo, he was glad it wasn’t “real” money”. “Our SM&P representation thanks Legal Aid for an amazing night out” he added, “It was great hearing about the impact legal aid is making in our community.”
For Nathalie and her husband, the theme attracted them to the event. “it is my husband’s birthday month and being able to celebrate with him as well as support the Legal Aid made for a better than average evening.”
Following the event, guests entered their winning chips into an auction. Eduardo won two tickets to the upcoming Legal Aid 100th birthday event at the Atlanta Zoo. Nathalie won a $100 Marietta Proper gift card. Congratulations Legal Aid on a successful event and Eduardo and Nathalie on your gifts.
The Cobb Legal Aid is a nonprofit organization providing free civil legal services to people living in poverty. Our work helps our clients deal with some of life’s most basic needs – a safe home, enough food to eat, a decent education and protection from violence. In addition to our on-staff attorneys, we recruit and train volunteers to help represent Cobb Legal Aid clients. Justice Jam is an effort by Cobb Legal Aid to raise funds — and awareness — to support these critical services in Cobb County.
