LiveSafe Resources Annual Ultimate Tailgate Party
Wanna watch some football, eat some ‘Que, sample various community-made beer, and be around friends? Last month, LiveSafe Resources’ 4th Annual ‘Que & Brew was deemed as an ultimate tailgate party at Taylor-Brawner Park in Smyrna, GA. According to Victoria Turney, client relations director at SM&P, it was a wonderful success, and had something for everyone.
Eight nationally ranked BBQ teams competed to wow the hundreds of guests with their fabulous food and amazing rigs. Fans washed down their eats with beer and seltzer from the best breweries around or, for the non-beer-drinkers, softer drinks, while watching their favorite teams on the big screen or participating in various games set up in the park.
“The party raised more than $50,000,” said declared Interim Executive Director Mallori Bruning. These funds will benefit LiveSafe Resources, a 24/7 operation that has been creating awareness of abuse, fostering support, and saving lives in this community since 1917. The agency offers safety and healing to those impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse. “We are able to do so much thanks to support from organizations like those of SM&P,” said Mallori. “We really appreciate the firm’s help with and interest in our work.”
“We were glad to continue our support in helping to eliminate domestic violence and elder abuse. Legal advice provided by firms such as ours is very important in helping clients put their lives back together,” SM&P founder and managing partner Mary Montgomery said, “but it’s only part of the solution. LiveSafe reaches out with a range of other critical services that help ensure long-term success.”
LiveSafe is the only non-profit partnering with law enforcement, the DA’s office, and WellStar Health System to provide emergency services and outreach to sexual assault victims in Cobb, Cherokee, and Paulding counties.
