Canton Concert on the Greens
The SM&P staff recently enjoyed some inner- and intra-office camaraderie by hanging out together at a community concert at The Mill in Canton, Georgia. “Guardians of the Jukebox,” an 80’s tribute band, performed for a packed house on the “green” and hosted many who took the opportunity to dress the part. This band is fast becoming known in metro Atlanta as the greatest tribute to the glory years of MTV’s pop, rock, new romantic, and new wave era style music.
“The Saturday evening concert outside of the Canton office was enjoyable,” said Heather Morrison, Canton paralegal. “It was definitely a hot evening, but the music and fellowship outweighed any negatives. It was a great 80’s band, and our table enjoyed the singalongs.”
“We couldn’t help but sing along throughout the evening,” said Partner Melanie Prehodka. “Some of us were even chair-dancing,” she laughed. Knowing her Pat Benatar “outfit” would be wasted without getting on the dance floor, Melanie did join hundreds of her fellow Cherokeets. “Maybe an office that sings and dances together can definitely work well together,” she added.
Melanie’s remark was followed by a quick retort. “Girls just want to have fun,” Victoria Turney, client relations added.
“Our Firm likes to invest in growing communities where our staff serves,” said Melanie, “We sponsored a table for a bit of melodious and rhythmic networking among the team and to contribute toward the building of community in Canton. Why? Because, as Bobby Brown says, “It’s our prerogative.”
