SM&P is in the Pink — and Purple!

October was Domestic Violence Awareness Month and we encouraged people to wear purple in support. But we also supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so pink, too, was modeled in our offices around town. “Our staff cares about both of these issues,” said Sherri Dombi, Executive Assistant, “so you can bet we were the epitome of chic in both colors!”

Legal assistant Jodi Askea, who has TWICE beat breast cancer, told us, “You can win the fight against breast cancer because, through the journey, you will find strength you never knew you had, a renewed sense of purpose, and love and support you never knew existed. You will also learn how to count your blessings. All of these things helped me tackle breast cancer – not just once, but twice – and win!”

“The courage of these women inspires everyone in the firm,” said Mary Montgomery, founding and managing partner.

HR project administrator Kaelyn Pruett, who coordinated the effort, admitted that she looks forward to Fridays just as much as the next person. “But these specific Fridays where we are recognizing and showing our support for such important causes make those days even more special,” she said. “You can feel the morale in the office boost when you pass someone who is also wearing pink or purple. It’s a really nice feeling knowing you are a part of a firm that acknowledges these causes.”
