Public Safety Appreciation Week
In recognition of Cobb County Public Safety Appreciation Week, Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor staff were honored to meet with Marietta fire and police personnel last month. They arrived bearing boxes of assorted cookies. “We brought the goodies to show our appreciation,” said SM&P’s Sherri Dombi, executive assistant. “We feel it was the least we could do to express our support for those men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day.”
The local law enforcement officers and firefighters were thankful and appreciated the gesture. “Local first responders rely on community engagement and support in order to serve and protect effectively. The drop-in and drop-off of treats was unexpected and definitely appreciated,” said Chuck McPhilamy, public information officer for Marietta Fire and Police. “Special thanks to the representatives of the Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor for dropping in to express their support for first responders. In a time when there is so much division in the world, it is even more meaningful to know that community partners stand by you.”
According to Mary Montgomery, SM&P’s founding and managing partner, this year, first responders have had to go beyond what was already the extra mile they are known for. “This was just a small token of our thanks.”
Public Safety Appreciation Week is a countywide effort to allow everyone the opportunity to say “thank you” to public safety personnel who protect residents of our towns and county each day. Community members are encouraged to demonstrate their support and share photos of their acts of thanks on social media by using the hashtag #CobbAppreciates.
