October 2021 Newsletter
Throughout September, temperatures fell while COVID-19 cases rose. Although pandemic precautions throughout our communities are changing, the goals and mission of your law firm remain dedicated to you and your legal matters.
This September marked the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Read about how SM&P staff observed that tragic day with events offered to honor and memorialize our fallen and injured heroes who sacrificed for others two decades ago. Firm team members participated in the Field of Flags ceremony at a local battlefield, witnessing firsthand the inspirational impact of the flags, and in a letter-writing campaign through Operation Gratitude.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Find out what we at the firm are doing to encourage breast health and support those we know who have battled breast cancer.
We also recognize our supervisors on October 16, National Boss’s Day. Here at SM&P, we offer a special shout-out to our own Mary Montgomery, the firm’s founding and managing partner. She has shown exceptional boss ability in leading us through the many challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic for the last year and a half.
This month’s Attorney Spotlight features Brendan Dalton. Review his page to find out more about him and his areas of practice.
SM&P team members Victoria Turney and Sherri Dombi took part in the patriotic Field of Flags Ceremony on September 4 at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. They walked with 1,300 others carrying American flags from Grace Community Church on Kennesaw Avenue in Marietta to the Battlefield.
SM&P’s Samantha Ramsey recently stepped up to show her gratitude for the sacrifice of first responders, service members, and veterans involved in the 9/11 tragedy. She heeded the call put out by Operation Gratitude to all grateful Americans to express their appreciation for these heroes in observance of the 9/11 20th Anniversary and as part of the annual National Day of Service through the digital letter-writing campaign.
In recognition of Grandparents’ Day, September 12, remember to show appreciation to the grandparents in your life whether they’re relatives, friends, or even yourself! We at SM&P advocate for this generation of experienced parents. Read our blog about grandparents’ rights below!
Brendan focused on Georgia family law for several years before joining SM&P. After graduating from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School, he served as counsel in various Atlanta-area counties. These include Fulton, Dekalb, Cobb, Fayette, Paulding, Douglas, Clayton, and Gwinnett. Brendan decided to leave his Fayetteville solo practice for the advantages of working with a large, well-known firm.
