Congrats to the Atlanta Braves for winning the 2021 World Series!

October brought us cheerful color and much appreciated — for many — cool, autumn weather. Good-bye bugs, hello apple cider and bonfires! Kids of all ages were seen out enjoying Halloween and other fall festivities this year.

Although most courts will be closed on November 11 in honor of Veterans Day, SM&P will be here to support your legal needs from 8:30-5:00 p.m. at the Marietta office. Despite remaining open for Veterans Day, our hearts will still be with veterans, both associated with the firm and those we have never met. Join us in saluting veterans who are part of our work family as well as veterans nationwide.

November is also Adoption Month. Learn more about adopting in Georgia by checking out the blog authored by our well-known and experienced adoption attorney, Judy Sartain.

Due to Covid last year, the community missed the ‘Ques and Brews festivities in support of LiveSafe’s domestic violence prevention programs. We made up for it this year by socializing and raising funds with even more enthusiasm. Take a peek!

This month’s Attorney Spotlight features Alycia Vail. Find out what she can offer clients involved in family law cases.

A special congratulations to our senior attorney Judy Sartain’s daughter, Catherine, for passing the bar. Like her mother, she will practice, and no doubt excel in, family law.

Our offices will close for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26.

We wish all our clients and friends a warm and meaningful Thanksgiving this year. After two hard years of pandemic loss and hardship, most of us don’t take anything for granted and are especially grateful for all that we still have this holiday season.
