Family Law Paralegal

Position: Experienced Family Law Paralegal in Alpharetta, Georgia
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: From $75,000.00 per year
Work Location: In Office – Alpharetta, GA

  • 5 or more years of recent experience in Family Law.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Experience with the Metro Atlanta court systems, procedures, and court staff.
  • Experienced with Georgia’s e-filing systems and processes.
  • Experienced and proficient with legal software and document storage/delivery systems
  • Capable of handling multi-faceted caseload and demands of a fast paced, mid-size firm.
Responsibilities:
  • Drafting, with excellence, all case documents, including Complaints, Answers, Motions, Responses, Leaves of
    Absences, Conflict Notices, Rule NISIs, Settlement Agreements, Parenting Plans, Child Support Worksheets,
    Orders, Final Judgments, and post-judgment duties such as Quitclaim Deeds and Income Deduction Orders
  • Organizing and completing service of process, even on difficult and evasive opposing parties.
  • Submitting documents to the court (e-file, email, arranging for hand delivery), effecting service to other
    parties and indexing documents in the case file
  • Engaging in the Discovery process, such as drafting discovery requests and responses, speaking with clients to
    obtain responsive documents and working with our systems for categorizing and organizing all discovery
    documents.
  • Maintaining the attorney(s)’s case files, both electronic and paper
  • Maintaining the attorney(s)’s calendar with excellence (calendaring court appearances, trials, conferences,
    depositions, mediations, and all court deadlines and ticklers
  • Maintaining good working relationships with clients, while billing appropriately and fairly
  • Analyzing and helping clients complete DRFAs as well as discovery responses, independently from the attorney
  • Able to work independently to assist the attorney in moving the case through the process.
  • Forward thinking for strategies to overcome difficulties of the cases or the parties.
