Terry McRae

V. Terry McRae, Esq. brings over 20 years of legal experience to Stearns-Montgomery and Proctor.
Terry retired from the Army after 20 years of service, earning the Bronze Star Medal for his achievements in Iraq and the coveted Master Parachutist Badge. Following his military career, Terry held Senior Leadership roles with Fortune 500 companies and recently served as a Magistrate Court Judge for Rockdale County, GA during the pandemic.
Mary Montgomery, SM&P founder and managing partner, recognized Terry's diverse expertise in military, corporate, and private practice matters. Clients appreciate Terry's diligent advocacy, client focus, and ability to explain complex legal concepts in a practical manner.
Terry's commitment to community service is evident through his volunteer work as a youth sports coach since the age of 17. He considers it his ministry to mentor young men and has achieved notable success coaching the Varsity Basketball team at Peachtree Academy, Covington, GA. Terry currently coaches his sons' Nationally Ranked Travel Basketball Team, Worldwide Hustle.
Educationally, Terry is a proud graduate of Hampton University and Michigan State University Law School. He also holds an LLM in Military Law from The Judge Advocate General's School at the University of Virginia. Terry is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
While Terry was a Military Brat who was born and graduated high school in Germany. He was raised in various locations on the East Coast, both his parents are from Georgia and considers it his home state.
In his leisure time, Terry enjoys spending time with his wife and three teenage sons, traveling internationally, and visiting the beach. He stays physically fit through P90x Workouts and participates in 5K races. Terry is an avid sports fan, supporting Atlanta Professional Sports Teams, UGA, Michigan State, and the Yankees. He humorously admits that when the Yankees play the Braves, it becomes a split household.
