A native of Texas, Melody received her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia. She then returned to Georgia after law school and began practicing law in 2008. Starting out in bankruptcy law, Melody shifted her focus over the next few years to family law. “I wanted to be more closely involved with my clients, and to have more control over the outcomes of some very difficult situations,” Melody commented. “Family law became my passion.”
Melody was drawn to Mary and the team at Stearns-Montgomery & Proctor due to their reputation as a successful family law firm, as well as their team approach to sharing experiences and best practices. “Based on my legal background, I can offer a unique view into the financial aspects of family law,” Melody added.
Clients describe Melody as a very charismatic, approachable, and caring attorney—the type of strong advocate they want on their side. Her passion is apparent as she works to solve problems, whether negotiating amicable settlements or fighting aggressively in court.
When she is not practicing law or caring for her son, Melody spends time training for her next triathlon. She also enjoys watching football, including the UGA Bulldogs and Dallas Cowboys.
